“Manual medicine for young and old, for athletes and couch potatoes, curative or preventive. I offer approaches to improving health – without drugs, without surgery.” – Matthias Meier, MD
At impulse health management, I offer manual medicine that combines techniques from American osteopathy and chiropractic as well as German chirotherapy. I aim to optimize the biomechanics of your spine and the joints of your extremities. Regular treatment can change the structure of the spine, take pressure off the spinal cord and nerve roots, and thus bring about better nerve supply to organs, joints, muscles, endocrine glands, etc. This reduces, and in many cases eliminates, the symptoms of discomfort. Since the nervous system controls all processes of the human body and supplies all organs and joints, this is a holistic, interdisciplinary therapy. The diagnosis, type of symptoms or the body region of interest does not change the therapeutic approach.
Spinal manipulation has been used to treat patients for thousands of years now. This is one of the oldest types of medicine in the world. Both osteopathy and chiropractic developed into a science in the USA in the 90s of the 19th century. Here, A.T. Still (founder of osteopathy) and D.D. Palmer (founder of chiropractic) developed 2 different systems, which, however, had the same goal: the recovery of patients regardless of their symptoms by means of treatment with the hands. Both schools continued to develop, partly in spite of suppression by the allopathic model that was gaining strength at the same time, which worked through medical doctors with drugs and surgery and was promoted in particular by oil and steel billionaires (including J.D. Rockefeller and A. Carnegie). Today, both osteopathy and chiropractic are recognized healing treatments worldwide, but they are not supported by all health insurance companies. In the USA they are becoming more and more popular, and in Germany, too, the holistic diagnosis and treatment seems to be convincing a growing number of people.
